Berlin is Germany's capital of politics, culture and diplomacy, and an increasingly international city. For a high-profile principal the exposure centres on the grand hotels, the cultural season and the political and diplomatic calendar.
Our operatives understand Berlin's rhythms and where its exposure and visibility concentrate.
The local picture
A few local realities shape every plan we build in Berlin:
- Political and diplomatic activity. The capital's institutions and visits bring sensitive movements and periodic demonstrations.
- Event peaks. The Berlinale, fashion week and the cultural calendar bring high-profile gatherings.
- Urban exposure. Busy central districts carry petty-theft risk for staff and family.
- Predictable venues. The grand hotels around the centre repeat, so patterns form.
Working within the local rules
Private security in Germany operates under trade regulation, and our operatives work within that framework. Firearms are tightly controlled, so close protection in Berlin is almost always unarmed and built on discretion and planning.
Arrivals, venues and the places that matter
Most principals arrive through Berlin Brandenburg with its private aviation facilities, a short protected transfer from the centre and the grand hotels.
- Private aviation. Berlin Brandenburg private terminals, with protected meet-and-greet.
- Hotels. The Adlon Kempinski, Regent and Ritz-Carlton, handled discreetly.
- Culture and events. The Berlinale, the opera houses and the museum quarter, where exposure concentrates.
- Residences. Apartments in Mitte and Charlottenburg, with managed access.
- Occasions. Political, diplomatic and cultural events, each with their own crowds.
